Jamaica Mi Hungry

Chef Ernie Campbell has been cooking in Boston since 2001 when he first arrived in the US. His story has a Vito Corleone-like arc that ends with current position as a top restaurateur in Boston. It started as a cook at the Marriott, then the Tewksbury Country Club, the Seaport Hotel and the World Trade Center, then to Belmont Day school where he spent 4 years leading the school lunch program. In 2012 Jamaica Mi Hungry opened, as a food truck, where Chef Campbell could have full creative control over the food he prepared. Combining his family-style dishes with what he learned in the states, Chef Campbell found success. The original food truck lives on for special events, but now Jamaica Mi Hungry is a full restaurant with dine-in and take-out options.

Everyone has their version of the beef patty, dumplings, knish and beef patties are more or less the same, despite originating in different continents: dough wrapping ground-meat and spice, and none disappoint.
